Summary/Abstract: This paper considers Tahmis by Abdullah Salahuddin Uššaki Bošnjak based on a short qasida by a well-known poet of the Prophet, p.b.u.h., Hassan ibn Sabit. The two poets separated by eleven centuries (Hassan lived in the 7th century and Uššaki in the 19th) established a very interesting relationship. Because of this enormous distance in time, it is interesting to observe formal and stylistic features of the two poets and to examine their understanding of the Prophet, p.b.u.h. The paper also considers the very selection of the poem used as the basis for the tahmis and the possible reasons for the poet to do it.
