Summary/Abstract: Gone are the days when libraries can simply open their doors and expect to be perceived as the number one option for information services. With fierce competition for resources and vast information available online, libraries are feeling pressured to blow their own horn (Kennedy Hallmark, Schwartz, & Roy, 2007). Ten years later and with the introduction of new technologies and the web2.0 challenging the way how academic libraries operate and how people process and access information, libraries are still struggling to make their voice heard, especially on university campuses. Novel resources require new services to be offered to a more diverse and constantly changing patron base, however offering and developing a brand-new service is only half the battle. Academic libraries have to market their services and academic librarians have to add additional skills to their information profession such as the role of educators and promoters in order for library users to become aware and make use of all the resources offered to them by the library.
