Summary/Abstract: The management of a good doctor-patient relationship is considered an essential attribute of the professional skills that should be known especially in dentistry. The relation between dental practitioner and patient, who lies at the base of every dentist office's activity, is far from being a simple business to client relationship. The psychological aspects of this interaction create a complex situation which should guide the dentist towards a comprehensive approach towards their relationship with the patient. Transforming this situation, often times unpleasant and anxiety ridden, into a pleasant and auspicious experience depends in large part on the attitude with which the patient is first welcomed when walking into the medical office and lasts until the end of treatment. The patients that are satisfied with dental treatment have positive experiences and seek dental care for prevention purposes, and thus a good oral health. Those that had negative experiences regarding the relationship with the dentist and the dental treatment tend to avoid dental care. In essence, this communication requires professionalism, selfawareness of one's personal attitudes as well as the ability to listen to others.
