Transylvanian diocese and plague between 1717-1720

Summary/Abstract: In 1717–1720 there was a huge plague epidemic in the Transylvanian Roman Catholic Diocese: 19,043 people died, while the total number of the believers was 46,906. In the first part of the article the author presents how the leaders of Transylvania, the Gubernium tried to stop the epidemic. The Next part of the article presents archive data about those dead due to the plague, priests and lay people. The last part of the article deals with the pastoral approach of the diocese after the plague.
