Summary/Abstract: What is the proper relationship between religion and politics? If politics is understood as prudent concern for the common good, it follows that religion can and should interplay with politics. This conclusion derives from the properly recognised truth about the nature of man and the nature of society, and from the awareness of the role of politics in the human communities, organised in political units (states). Demands to separate religion and politics stem from incorrect understanding of politics merely as means (often immoral ones) for obtaining power and keeping it, or from the promotion of laicisation by leftist groups, usually under the guise of state ideological neutrality.
