Summary/Abstract: CEPOL is meant to be one of the most important and successful European training agencies which supports and encourages cross-border cooperation in the fight against organised crime. CEPOL was set up by the Council Decision 2005/681/JHA of 20 September 2005 to bring together senior police officers from all police forces in Europe. The agency supports and develops a European approach to main problems facing Member States in the fight against crime, crime prevention and the maintenance of law and order and public security.
