Summary/Abstract: In this article I deal with the issue of legal grounds of companies which are active in persons and property protection, security staff, internal security service and specialized armed security formations. First of all I describe the legal foundations of security service activity in the moment of their establishment in Poland. Further part of article presents legal status for a current moment with interpretation of selected legal provisions.
