Summary/Abstract: The Cyprus Island, located in Eastern part of Mediterranean Sea is known for decades of conflict known as “Cyprus conflict”. There are two types of actors that attempt to resolve the conflict, firstly, citizens of local communities and secondly, various external actors. The main aim of this paper is to describe and examine the historical background of the activities of external actors, evaluate their input for solution of Cyprus conflict and analyse their current position and future interests on an issue. In addition to that, the paper contains a critical analysis of an influence of external actors in Cyprus conflict in the context of their interests and the power struggle in the mentioned region. The UN is still considered to be the most neutral element in the conflict. On the contrary, the EU´s neutrality in the context of Cyprus conflict is questioned. The UK is interested in retention British sovereign base areas on Cyprus. It is clear that, Cyprus conflict represents an important part of Turkey´s internal policy, as well as in Greece. All this affects the attitudes of the political garnitures of both sides of the conflict on the island and fundamentally affects the processes between them.
