Summary/Abstract: The article presents the main position theory of crises, proposed by prominent Ukrainian economist M. I. Tugan Baranovsky. The author has summarized the basic ideas of scientist concerning causes of recurrence, problems of social reproduction, distribution of the national product. The focus of the article the mechanism of industrial cycles and economic crises identified M.I. Tugan-Baranovsky on the basis of studies of the world economy.
