Summary/Abstract: Stefan Józef Wincenty Złotnicki – a Polish nobleman, coat of arms Nowina, owner of the Zduńska Wola estate, founder of the city of Zduńska Wola, a man of intellect and entrepreneurship, a freemason. At the beginning of the 19th century he initiated a massive inflow of settlers (weavers)to Zduńska Wola, which caused a dynamic growth of this location. As the development of the new settlement was progressing successfully, Złotnicki applied to the authorities of the Congress Kingdom of Poland to grant city status to Zduńska Wola, which happened on 25 October 1825, and accelerated the industrialization of the city.
