Summary/Abstract: This article reviews the process of formation of the Ukrainian circus school (late 19th to 21st centuries), and designates the basic stages of development of the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Variety and Circus Arts which is unique educational institution in Ukraine, preparing the professional performers and staff for circus and physical theater. Information on teachers, instructors, trainers and directors, which at different historical stages promoted foundation and development of this area of creative training is provided.
