The most important legal acts regulating the functioning of the EU gas sector werepresented, and then non-binding documents were analyzed, i.e. strategies and actionplans issued mainly by the European Commission, referring to future directions ofactivities in the gas sector. Next, the projects of particular importance for the EU energysecurity have been described, including three priority gas corridors: the SouthernCorridor, the North-South Corridor in Eastern Europe, and the interconnection plan onthe Baltic energy market (BEMIP), as well as the Corridor North - South in WesternEurope. Each of the mentioned projects indicates the participation of the EuropeanUnion in their implementation.
