Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author presents the results of his research on the metric-rhythmical structure of Pi. O. 2 and on its imitation in Greek tragedy. The discussion is preceded by metrical analysis of O. 2. The results are next made use of in order to identify the principle upon which the metric-rhythmical structure of the ode is based. After that, the author investigates certain tragic lyric passages composed according to the same principle. The comparison shows that the probable imitation of this metric-rhythmical structure by tragedians is accompanied by verbal and thematic echoes.
