Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the concept and subject of research in the field of Greek pedagogy, as an alternative research program (as opposed to history of culture, history of education, history of educational thought, history of philosophy). I have outlined the historical context of omission of studies of Greek pedagogy in Poland in the communist period. Greek pedagogy has been defined as reflection of the ancient Greeks over the upbringing and education, which found its expression in the statements on education and training identified in ancient source texts. I have shown the way of understanding the history of pedagogy by Thucydides, Plato, Aristotle and Cicero. I have described the most important synthetic studies and choice of sources to Greek education. Authorial typology of educational trends has been proposed, in accordance with the forms of the spiritual life of the Greeks: 1) poetic pedagogy, 2) sapiential pedagogy, 3) juridical pedagogy, 4) sophistic pedagogy, 5) rhetorical pedagogy, 6) philosophical pedagogy, and I pointed out the most important sources for their reconstruction.
