Summary/Abstract: This article carries comparative analysis of major Umberto Eco’s and Mikhail Bakhtin’s researches in the field of contemporary poetics. The emphasis is laid on importance and complementariness of the ideas of polyphony and intertextuality, which alter contemporary poetics and enrich the semantic planescape of the culture.
