Summary/Abstract: Man is understood here as homo acsiologicus and values are the basis of all human decisions. There is a need to confront the challenge and question the legitimacy of museum work inpost-migration societies, which consist of a conglomerate of different values and meanings. An example illustrating the problems that can arise here is activities undertaken by somePolish museums working with an important minority group which is the Roma people which is still not assimilated into Polish society. Basic categories of Romani culture (such as time, space, esthetics and language) are regarded here as contradictory with values typical for majority society (eg. Polish society).
