Summary/Abstract: Romania’s distinct development in the Soviet sphere generated a change of attitude both in the leadership of the Soviet Union and the member states of the Warsaw Treaty Organization. The foreign policy line promoted by Gheorghiu - Dej and continued by Ceausescu determined Moscow and its allies to limit information exchanges with the Romanian state to completely isolate it from the West. The active measures program against Romania designed by the Kremlin and executed by security and intelligence services of the member countries of the Warsaw Treaty compelled the Romanian state to set up a special counter-espionage unit to deal with the socialist countries. The existence of the anti - socialist countries Military Unit, in disaccord with Romania’s provisions as a member country of the Warsaw Treaty Organization, state, first, the degree of friendship and cooperation between the Romanian state and other states in the Soviet sphere of influence. The evolution, forms of organization and activity of the anti-socialist countries Military Unit is an area little known in the scientific circuit because of secrecy and conspiracy of these things. The professionalism shown while fulfilling its missions is remarkable. Also, the uniqueness of such a structure in the Soviet bloc and the Warsaw Treaty Organization are landmarks of security and intelligence culture of the Romanian state during the communist period
