Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to show the shift of emphasis in the field of effectiveness of sociotechnical methods and tools in the contemporary world. The author has demonstrated the omnipresence of practical sociotechnical methods in their instrumental dimension, consisting in achieving particular — often non-human in their consequences — individual and common goals, which is a dominant tendency towards sociotechnical actions aimed at general social targets. In this article these methods are being called “projective sociotechnics”. This shift of emphasis in comparison with original assumptions of sociotechnics, seen in the contemporary world, is a result of globalization changes, in which individualism begins to dominate over the so called “common good”.
