NATO between Politics and Public Opinion

Summary/Abstract: Political debates, intentions and actions are essential for analyzing NATO’s evolution, but we shall also take into account the psycho-social representations of individuals and groups on the Alliance’s role and status in the world. We consider this an important part of the analysis due to the premises that national and international security is not only about nation states and their interests, but also about individuals and their interests. Thus, this paper is focused on analyzing public opinion in NATO member countries and partners on Alliance’s enlargement and missions.
