Summary/Abstract: According to contemporary interpretations, memes present a new kind of high tech media product, that are able to exert unusually rapid, powerful, and wide-ranging cultural effects on society. I began by introducing a four minute sequence from the film „Bukás” (Downfall) that provides the basis for the humorous political reinterpretation of the 2016 February teachers’ protest. I then explore the dynamics of the cultural critique contained in this meme. In my analysis of the meme „Downfall”, I rely on Arthur Koestler’s concept of „bisociation,” which establishes a close connection between the cultural work of humor, science and aesthetics.
