Summary/Abstract: For a description of specific cognitive competence of the modern student I use the category of a shallow mind. In this way, embedding learning difficulties students to broader psychological and neurological basis. In the article, I suggest using eyetracking tests for the diagnosis of disorders of communication. I would like to take a look at how students recognize the meaning of the text, how deeply they enter into the structure of meaning and how to “scan” the text as a practice of reading determines the competence of writing.
