Summary/Abstract: Our article focused on several images of women such as they appear in texts ranging from pre-Renaissance to Renaissance, showing how woman changes from a symbol or an abstract image, devoid of corporeality of own desires, to an individual feeling and acting just as well as a man, even though the general opinion on women is far from being a favourable one in texts written by male authors.
