Summary/Abstract: In the fourth decade of XXth century modern information theory based on mathematics was being developed (Shannon). The cybernetic thought influences both biology and social sciences. It can be said that Galilean mathematization of nature as described by Husserl is followed by the mathematization of culture. Whereas in the former the perception (sensory data) is quantified, in the latter the formalization pertains to the sphere of communication (thought process). The article will reconstruct this ongoing process and pose the question regarding its limits.
