Opera of M. Rimsky-Korsakov "Mozart and Saliery". To the question of understanding the role of historical fact in modern musicology science

Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the distinguished event of Ukrainian musical life during the sixtieth years – the production of Rimsky-Korsakov’s chamber opera «Mozart and Saliery» on the stage of Kiev philharmonic society. In the performance of famous Ukrainian singers B. Gmiria and K.Ognevyi. The series of established fact (archive sources, memories of contemporaries and diaries of performers) in this case make possible to restore organically the musical spirit and the global idea of this extraordinary opera action. Besides, there are some characteristics of fact which is considered as the important factor of musical history. The interpretation of the has a decisive role for the comprehension of musical phenomena with its positive or negative influence in the contemporaneous musicological science.
