Summary/Abstract: The paper provides reflections and a case study of a future comprehensive study whose aim is to uncover differences in Hungarian and Austrian culture and to make them transparent. The gaze applied to a particular topic and its findings are certainly not only relevant to the position of the scientific field in which the subject is concerned, but also to his cultural affiliation. The so-called migration background, with which only a relatively small proportion of researchers in Europe work, is defined as a special case of traditional cultural affiliations. The description of this special case as a type forms the subject of the first part of the treatise.
