Summary/Abstract: The Article aims to show the need to properly understand the role of social work in selected broader contexts of its activity. Based upon its definition and those of the fields of activity such as charitable, missionary, developmental and humanitarian activities, the Article clarifies how social work is incorporated there, by preserving its identify as well as their specific character, without exchanging, overlapping or neglecting social work in any of them.
