Summary/Abstract: The article is showing the current item of train passenger transports on the Polish market of transport services including causes which influenced her today’s position. In the final part of the article a future market position of railways was outlined in the transport system of the country, with pointing at beneficial conditioning of the transport policy which can to back meaning of this branch up in the sustainable development of the transport.
