Summary/Abstract: This text is the first Polish translation of Plutarch’s Περὶ τοῦ πότερον τὰ ψυχῆς ἢ τὰ σώματος πάθη χείρονα (Animine an corporis affectiones sint peiores). This work has not survived in its entirety. In it Plutarch compares the passions of a body with the pain of the soul (πάθη) and claims that the latter are worse for man. His writing goes beyond rhetorical exercises or display and can be regarded as the testimony to the Plutarch’s care about human morality.
