Summary/Abstract: Linguistic works dealing with research of language contacts and interference use a term atrophy which indicates various changes connected with a permissiveness of norm a minority (isolated) language. In the United States of America also the Slovak language (Slovak dialects) exists as a minority language. In this paper some examples of atrophic changes in word-formation level are presented.
