Summary/Abstract: The Republic of Macedonia became a sovereign and independent state in the year 1991, performing radical political and economic changes following the contemporary world trends. These reforms, at both conceptual and program level, had to be embedded in the new Constitution, which was adopt-ed in the course of the same year. Nevertheless, due to lack of time and vision, the conception of the new social system, apart from certain accomplishments, was characterized by crucial omission as well. In the area of state organization, the most significant omission was the establishment of a legislative body, politically almost utterly irresponsible, due to the impossibility of being adjourned and due to the slim chances of having these laws disputed by any political entity. In such a context, by means of comparison with the contemporary political systems, this work iden-tifies situations for increasing the responsibility of the Macedonian legislative body by means of its dissolution and revocation of its representatives.
