Summary/Abstract: Translation criticism is the comparative analysis of source text and text translated to target language. Aim of the comparative analysis is making generalization about strategies and norms which applied by the translators, instead of hunting mistakes. In this study, Muhammad Taymur’s Fî’-l Kitâr ( يف راطقلا ) named short story’s translations by Rahmi Er, Musa Yıldız and Erdinç Doğru analyzed by using comparative analysis in terms of competence and acceptability. Examination of selected sections of the source text resulted in an interpretation of the translator preferences, translations of the target or source text focus.
