Summary/Abstract: One of the current debates about democracy is "citizenship and participation". The main reason for the debate on the relation of these concepts is that democracy is a system based on the continuous and active participation of the citizens. Citizens are involved in decisions that concern public life and are involved in the decision-making process by influencing people in the decisionmaking process. In this way, they also realize a dimension of participation in political life. The university period can also be called as the period when the individual reaches social maturity, adapts to social values and becomes an independent individual. This study includes the findings obtained regarding the dimensions of participation in political life of the students who are educated in different academic departments of Mardin Artuklu University. In order to reach these findings, a scale was developed by taking advantage of the related literature and this scale was randomly selected. In the study, the dimensions of participation of individuals in political life will be examined in terms of factors such as age, gender, income situation, urban or rural living status, membership to non-governmental organizations.
