Summary/Abstract: Afansiy Nikitin was the first and the only traveler that travelled to India from the Tver principality in Russia and visited the Behmen Turkish Sultanate there in the second half of XV century. Considering the fact that the Russians of that time were a secluded community that were not liable to interact with the outer world, it would not be an overstatement to say that this was a quite brave attempt. It is not possible to say that Nikitin, who was a romantic and an adventurer, was a successful and a talented writer. Such that, he lost all his commodity during this journey and only took brief notes about it. Although these notes are basically in Russian, Turkish, Arabic and Persian elements are also included. And this case made these notes useless and unintelligible to Russian people for a long time.
