Abandoned Forts and their Civilian Reuse in Roman Dacia

Summary/Abstract: Th rough its generally well located position – both geographically and for logistics –, through itsform and internal planning resembling that one of a city, and through its well made inner constructions, onedeserted fort could be attractive for reusing by civilians. Before showing the situation for the castra in Dacia, wepresented some historiographical approaches, some general aspects related to the issue and discussed the legalregime of the deserted forts.
