Summary/Abstract: Tourism is a sector with many positive and negative impacts due to its economic, environmental and socio-cultural dimensions. It is also among the subjects that are frequently researched in the literature because of its impact especially on residents. The basic assumption of this study is that there is a difference between perception and attitudes of the local people living in different regions because the levels of tourism development are not similar. For this purpose, in order to discover the residents’ different perceptions and attitudes towards tourism in two regions where levels of tourism development are different from each other (Mazı Village and Türkbükü) a research is conducted within the scope of Butler's "Tourism Life Cycle Model" and Doxey's "Tolerance Model". The participants were asked 10 semi-structured questions related to qualitative research characteristics and the data obtained were analyzed within the framework of the embedded theory approach. The results of the study revealed that there are serious differences in terms of perception and attitudes towards tourism of the two selected region.
