Perspective of Halal Hotels in Tourism Faculty Students

Summary/Abstract: The hotel has an important place in the concept of halal tourism, which has attracted great interest especially in recent years in terms of creating a new market. However, most of the limited empirical research has been limited to the expectations and perceptions of the guests staying in these hotels. In this research, it was aimed to contribute to the literature by determining the perspectives of the tourism faculty students on the concept of the halal hotels and the thoughts about the topic. In the research, a survey form consisting of 36 questionnaires was created by following the development stages of Punch (2005)’s measurement tool. The universe of the research constitutes undergraduate students of Tourism Management and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of Tourism Faculty of Atatürk University. The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS 20.0 packet statistics program. The opinions of the students regarding the halal hotels were evaluated considering the averages and the measurement tool subjected to exploratory factor analysis were reduced to 27 items and six dimensions.
