Public Procurement and Financial Liquidity and Profitability of Enterprises

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this article is to examine the impact of participation of enterprises of different sizes and industries in tendering procedures on their liquidity and profitability. Design/methodology/approach – The article uses the questionnaire method and analysis of the financial data of enterprises taking part in public tenders. 236 companies participated in the study. The chi-squared independence test was used to verify the test results and to determine dependence. Findings – The studies conducted have shown the impact of participation of public companies on their liquidity and profitability. Originality/value – The study attempts to fill a research gap on the impact of business participation on the public procurement market on their liquidity and profitability.
