Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The author endeavours to prove that availability of cultural service in Poland is an obvious result of the amount of offered seats in theaters and that is why subsidising public theaters needs to be dependent on „production” of seats on the auditorium. The author proposes an additional thesis saying that availability of free seats during performances in Poland is low and varying and that is the reason of low society participation in cultural events. Methodology – Public theaters in Poland are the subject of the research. All data used in the research comes from the Central Statistical Office as well as from the opinion polls distributed by the author. Data covers the period of time from 2010 to 2015, but the key year of the research is 2015. Only theaters which are sponsored by the city government or district government are included into research. The basic unit of measure is a district. The author used graphics, statistics as well as conclusion’s methods to execute her research aim and verify the hypothesis. Findings – It was proved by using Pearson correlation that there is a relation between human participation in performances and the availability of seats in the theatre. More over it was proved that there is no dependence on how much the theaters were donated by the government, and it does not matter if the performance hall is permanent or not. Having such results of the research and knowing that there is a decent sale of theatre tickets we can assume that the author verify positively thesis of the research. To cause higher availability of theater tickets come into effect, the amount of free seats in permanent theatre’s halls should depend on government’s donations. Value – Reflections on research concern on another trial of finding a solution for how to increase effectiveness of public assets spent on cultural services in Poland. In reference to the author what should be provided is the availability of cultural events.
