Iso Measurement of First And Second 500 Company Industry Activity With Data Envelopment Analysis

Summary/Abstract: Effective and efficient implementation of industrial policy across the country improving and right directing of the sectors are very important fort he future of the country. In this study the scale efficiencies of the sectors have been identified according to the results of the data Data envelopment analysis (DEA) which was applied to the sectoral based grouped first 500 and second 500 companies published by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in 2009. The activities of the 27 sectors idetified in the study were analized according to the 11 financial analysis indicator as profit gaining companies and the most profitable companies. Active and non-active sectors were identified in the light of the analysis Mining, Tobacco Processing, Petroleum and Coal Derivative Sectors were seen as scale efficent. Clothing, Textile and Other Chemical Products sectors have been seen in the last row of the scale efficiency. Drink scale efficiency acrossother sectors that are less (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and tobacco processing sector of the financial analysis indicators have reached the conclusion that the sampling rate required. It was concluded that drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) scale efficiency and the financial analysis indicators of tobacco processing sectors should be taken as a model across the other sectors that have less scale efficiency.
