Summary/Abstract: Sharing information during disasters is challenging and vital, too. During instantlychanges of our life-situation (disaster, accident, crime etc.) both the individual, and community levelthere is a great need for instantly information, actions and solutions. The ICT tools can become avery important part of the future emergency and crisis management - as always, only with clear andproven strategies, tools and preparedness. The social media upgrades emergency communicationwith a lot of data rich, spectacular and useful tools. The use of these tools turns nowadays, in frontof our eyes from intuitively, individual use to a professional, life changer level. In this study we talkabout the trend of social media, real and describable experiences from last years, and fi nally try tosummarize the main messages of using social media in disaster management.
