Summary/Abstract: The author of the article, well-known actor and teacher of the University of Cluj, initiates a debate concerning the teaching of speaking techniques subject. Jancsó considers that correct, expressive and articulate speaking is compulsory not only for actors, but also for priests, teachers,radio and TV journalists, therefore speaking techniques must be acquired by all lecturers speaking in public. The subject was included in the curricula of Babes-Bolyai University in 1996, but since then it has become the stepchild of higher education, the author explains, and all the efforts to maintain the subject in the curricula met in the last years with failure.
