Summary/Abstract: The present paper contains the analysis of four films: Moon (2009, directed by Duncan Jones),Buried (2010, directed by Rodrigo Cortés), All Is Lost (2013, directed by J.C. Chandor), Gravity(2013, directed by Alfonso Cuarón) and through different viewpoint. I will give a survey of some features of one-actor films such as the chances of maintaining viewer attention, the communication possibilities of the individual in extreme situations, the contradictions of the relationship between nature and technology – all these by taking into account the role of the subjective viewpoint, the motives of self-reflection, space and time as well as death.
