Study of Production Costs in Grain Production

Summary/Abstract: The main sub-sector of Bulgarian agriculture is grain production. The increase in profits in the cultivation of cereals is possible by optimization of costs. To effectively manage their farms grain producers take into account the specifics of agriculture, using various economic-statistical methods to optimize their production costs. The purpose of this article is to present the main results of a pilot questionnaire survey conducted during the implementation of the project № 7-2010 "Optimization of production costs - a prerequisite for sustainability and competitiveness in grain production”.
