Summary/Abstract: The development of enterprises has a fundamental meaning for economics progress of the country. The enterprises which want to subsist on the global market should use all realizable development opportunities. Entities can find a competitive advantage in interior but particularly in the exterior development. One of the development opportunities can be internationalization. The aim of the article is to show the internationalization process as a strategy of survival and development with particular consideration of small and medium-sized entities. The author presents types of internationalizations strategies, sources and circumstances of the international expansion.
