Summary/Abstract: By a retrospection of the humorous and satirical creations of the pre-1989 Transylvanian Hungarian literature, the memorable parodies, satires and humoresques of Andor Bajor are perhapst he first that show up. Therefore the volume entitled Smoking steel hammer, issued last year by the Mentor publishing house and containing the parodies and satires of Andor Bajor is welcome in this respect, and from the perspective of the full processing and rereading of Bajor’s life work. Most of these creations were issued in the New Year and April 1 sections of that period’s literary journals.One can correctly assert that these texts are important parts of that time’s Romanian Hungarian literature.
