Summary/Abstract: The paper summarizes the available data from the North American sites with man-mammoth associations. There are at least 10 to 14 Clovis butchering sites used for the processing of one to thirteen hunted animals or carcasses, accompanied by a small amount of artifacts, mostly projectile points. The finds from the Richey Clovis cache, Broken Mammoth site, Blackwater Draw no. 1, and numerous accidental discoveries from Florida prove the use of the proboscidean tusks for the manufacture of tools and hunting weapons.
