Summary/Abstract: Of all medieval theologians, one cannot forget the figure of Saint Bonaventure. Along with his theological works, he represents a typical medieval scholastic school. This article presents some of the most important themes of Mariology according to Saint Bonaventure, namely: God's motherhood, Mary's importance for the Church, spiritual beauty, and Mary's participation in the process of redemption. Mary is an example to be followed. In his "Mariology" Saint Bonaventure focuses on the concept of mercy and act of the Holy Trinity in the life of the Mother of God. Mary is full of mercy, present in the Church, and a model for Christians on their spiritual path where every believer can meet God.
