Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the role of the Holy Spirit in relation to the proclaimer of the Divine word. A special attention was paid to the subjective role of the Holy Spirit in the mission of the preacher. The Holy Spirit speaks in the Church and leads to the knowledge of God’s mysteries. In the sacrament of the priesthood, the Third Person of God anoints and sends to preach the Gospel. The Holy Spirit perfects the human nature of the preacher to be efficient and effective. Ultimately, the Holy Spirit was the inspiration for writing the sacred books of the Bible and should be with the preacher when he reads and meditates on the Scriptures to read them properly and deliver the message of salvation. Finally, a special attention was drawn to the need for a prayerful relationship between the homilist and the Holy Spirit.
