Summary/Abstract: The article offers a new chronological scheme of the latest Sarmatian antiquities of the Budzak steppe, which are represented on this territory by tomb mounds and by single graves. The analysis of grave goods in Sarmatian complexes and their dating, and also peculiarities of their funeral tradition enable classification of the data of antiquities into some chronological groups – the sites of the second half (closer to the end) of III century, the first quarter of IV century, third-fourth quarter of IV century. The obvious division of the whole layer of the latest Sarmatian antiquities of Budzak into three separate time groups with significant chronological intervals between them can hardly testify in favour of the supposedly constant presence of the Sarmatians in the middle III – late IV centuries, and most probably reflects some single penetrations of these nomads in the North-Western Black Sea regions during this period.
