Summary/Abstract: In the strategic and tactical planning of the election campaigns’ the role of the online communication rises constantly. In the United States of America and in the European countries also this new opportunity revitalized the electoral communication. The successful western examples were somehow built in the Romanian politicians’ campaigns. However the effective use of the social media interlocks with several other factors and needs to fulfill numerous conditions and leaving these out of consideration can affect forcefully the campaigns’ efficiency.
